Lillehammer
is a charming small town situated at the North end of Norway's largest
lake, Mjøsa. It is approximately 2 hours drive from Oslo airport,
Gardermoen.
Lillehammer became world famous
as the organiser of the winter Olympics in 1994. It is also provides the
arena for a number of important cross-country skiing events each year,
including the Birkebeiner
events, Inga-låmi and the World Cup.
Interesting sights and places of interest in Lillehammer include the
open-air museum at Maihaugen,
"Skibladner"
(the world's oldest paddle steamer in scheduled service), Hunderfossen
Family Park, Lillehammer
Olympic Park and the Norwegian
Olympic Museum.
